SLSA 16: FAO’s work on People-Centred Development with a Livelihoods Perspective (PCD-L)

by Rahel last modified 2008-11-08 16:13
This SLSA focuses on FAO’s work on People-Centred Development with a Livelihoods Perspective. It was written by Siobhan Kelly of FAO’s Livelihoods Support Programme. In November 2004 FAO’s Livelihood Support Programme and some of its partners came together to look at examples of livelihoods projects to understand what works and what doesn’t work and how to improve their operations, impact and scaling-up. Three case studies from this workshop are highlighted in this issue. What emerges from this is the usefulness of looking at things from a livelihoods perspective in order to understand the complexities of livelihoods, and the importance of moving towards concrete livelihood interventions.
