Adapted Community Based Planning in the Free State

by Rahel last modified 2011-02-18 13:07

In September 2010, Khanya-aicdd conducted a series of workshops for Community Development Practitioners (CDPs) within the Free State Department of Social Development on the Sustainable Livelihoods Approach (SLA). The training was designed to enhance the capacity of Community Development Practitioners (CDPs) in applying the Sustainable Livelihoods Approaches in programme planning and management in support of community development.

This was followed by another five day practical training on Community Based Planning (CBP) in November 2010. The objective of the CBP workshops was to introduce CBP as part of the Community Development Practitioners toolkit and to adapt CBP and the Toolkit to meet current challenges faced in working with communities.

Currently, the CDPs are undertaking fieldwork on Community Based Planning. Participants will be accredited for the fieldwork through the University of the Free State.
