Learning & Sharing
The Learning and Sharing Service aims to develop Khanya-aicdd as a learning organisation that is strategically and operationally positioned to advance its mission of working with partners to transform the development system in order to improve the livelihoods of the poor in Africa.
Our approach to learning and sharing work is:
- Integrated: an integral aspect of programme design
- Embedded: reflected within practices
- Collaborative: working with and through partners to generate & share knowledge
- Reflective: concerned with promoting a learning environment within Khanya-aicdd as well as promoting learning & sharing externally
- Outward looking: embraces and learns from emerging practice around learning & sharing within Africa and beyond
We believe that knowledge is created when people are encouraged to share and exchange experiences and practice, formally and often more significantly, informally. Finding creative and innovative ways to do this in a systematic but sufficiently flexible way is a critical role for the Learning & Sharing team.
We aim to create an optimal environment to generate, capture and share knowledge, practicing internally what we say is needed externally. The diverse programmes of work include:
- Publications and Website – a range of electronic newsletters and substantive policy briefings produced around key development themes
- Learning networks, events and debates that help to build common understanding and network around their themes, linked to international knowledge networks
- Providing monitoring and evaluation support to projects located within Khanya-aicdd’s practices
